3 steps to perfection
01
Precision CNC machining
The mould elements are machined from tool steel with the highest precision and minimal tolerances of +/- 1/100 mm using automated processes. The milling of both, the mould insert and the shoe occurs in parallel, as the vacuum hardening process causes only minimal distortion, eliminating the need for reworking the mould insert and shoe.
02
Patented assembly
The milled mould elements are assembled using a patented process that ensures a precise and high-strength connection.
03
Vacuum hardening
The final vacuum hardening process fuses the components into an extremely strong and durable mould, which optimizes the durability and performance.
Advanced material
Use of high-performance tool steel
for mould inserts and shoes.
The material provides a consistent hardness of approximately 1600 HV through the use of a special steel matrix with carbides throughout the entire mould.
Unlike traditionally used insert steel with a soft core and case hardening, tool steel offers minimal and uniform wear on both the mould and shoes.

Innovative vacuum hardening
Instead of traditional case hardening in a chamber furnace, formwerk relies on a specialized heat treatment process in a state-of-the-art vacuum system.
This technology, used in aerospace, enhances the strength of the moulds and significantly extends their service life.
